This route starts at the Church of Esporles, where you can see a signpost for the Camí des Correu, and begins to climb up the Costa de Sant Pere.

Right from the first few metres of the route there are some noticeable gradients, and after this, a short descent leads to the road.

Carefully cross to the other side of the road, and continue along it for about 100 metres, where you will find signs pointing the way along the GR route.

This is where the hard climbing starts, with an initial stony section giving way to less stony sections.

The waymarking is excellent, with marker posts and sign boards guiding you along an idyllic and enchanting path.

There will be some gates along the way. Please don’t forget to close them behind you.

Here is where the steep descent to Banyalbufar begins, testing leg muscles and giving you an idea of the challenge in store on the way back.

Take care here, not only because of the steep slopes, but also because there may be some traffic in this area.

Arriving at the village, you can add a few extra metres to the marked GPX route if you wish to go down to the picturesque harbour or the beach.

So now you know the way, you just have to reverse your steps.

The steep ramps leading out of Banyalbufar are a challenge for any trail runner, and the descent is much more technical than on the outward journey, since the terrain is bare earth and stones. So, bearing in mind the kilometres already taking their toll on your legs, you can expect the return to be a bit more difficult than the outward journey.
